Holiday planes, trains and automobiles

93.3 million Americans are expected to travel this holiday season. That’s near pre-recession levels.

 

Holiday travel for 2012 is expected to rise slightly over last year. AAA estimates 93.3 million Americans will take a year-end trip. That’s close to, but still slightly below, pre-recession levels. The vast majority of these travelers, 9 out of 10, will go by car.  

More than 5.6 million Americans are expected to fly, and AAA says they’ll find airfares below 2011 rates.

The rest will go by way of train or bus.
